# Chrome extension

> Text and call your Follow Up Boss contacts with Blujay, right from Chrome.

The Blujay Chrome extension puts Blujay next to your CRM. It adds text and call buttons beside phone numbers in Follow Up Boss, and opens your full Blujay inbox in Chrome's side panel, so you don't have to switch tabs.

## Install the extension

**1. Add it to Chrome**

In the Blujay web app at [app.blujay.io](https://app.blujay.io), click the phone icon (**Get the apps**) in the left sidebar, then click **Add to Chrome**. On the Chrome Web Store page, click **Add to Chrome**.

**2. Pin it to your toolbar**

Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, then click the pin next to **Blujay**. This keeps the Blujay icon one click away.

**3. Open the side panel and sign in**

Click the Blujay icon to open Blujay in the side panel, then sign in with your Blujay email and password.

**4. Turn on notifications**

Click **Enable notifications** in the side panel, then click **Allow** when Chrome asks. See [Notifications](https://support.blujay.io/notifications.md) to choose what you're notified about.

## Text a contact from Follow Up Boss

Open a person in Follow Up Boss. Next to each phone number you'll see two small blue buttons.

**1. Click Text with Blujay**

Click the speech-bubble button (**Text with Blujay**) next to the phone number.

**2. Write your message**

Blujay opens in the side panel. If you've texted this number before, your existing conversation opens. If not, a new message to that number opens.

If you've texted this contact from more than one Blujay number, you'll see **Choose a conversation**. Pick the one you want to continue.

## Call a contact from Follow Up Boss

**1. Click Call with Blujay**

Click the phone button (**Call with Blujay**) next to the phone number.

**2. Choose your number and call**

Choose which Blujay number to call from, then click **Call**.

**3. Allow your microphone**

The first time you call, Blujay asks for microphone access. Click **Allow microphone**, then **Allow** when Chrome asks. Your call starts in Chrome.

## Use Blujay in the side panel

Click the Blujay icon in Chrome's toolbar any time to open your Blujay inbox next to the page you're on. Everything you can do in the web app works there, including reading and replying to conversations.

## Common problems

> [accordion] I don't see the Blujay buttons in Follow Up Boss
>
> * Make sure the extension is installed and turned on in Chrome.
> * Open a person's page in Follow Up Boss. The buttons appear next to phone numbers you can click to call.
> * Reload the Follow Up Boss page.

> [accordion] It says "Chrome did not allow microphone access"
>
> Chrome is blocking your microphone for Blujay. Click **Try again** and choose **Allow**, or turn on microphone access for Blujay in Chrome's site settings.

> [accordion] It says "Line is currently busy" or "Line is unavailable"
>
> The Blujay number you chose can't place a call right now. Try again in a moment, or choose a different number.

> [accordion] I'm not getting notifications from the extension
>
> Open the side panel and click **Enable notifications** if you see it. Then follow the checklist on the [Notifications](https://support.blujay.io/notifications.md) page.
